The Role
Our client, a well known and established company in Malta is seeking to employ a Shipping Officer to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
- Handle import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs and excise protocols.
- Process and submit documentation to relevant authorities and shipping agents.
- Verify freight and insurance charges, ensuring accuracy.
- Obtain shipping cost quotations and recommend cost-saving measures to management.
- Coordinate closely with clearing and forwarding/shipping agents for timely document clearance.
- Conduct calculations and cost assessments on incoming documents.
Requirements and skills
- ‘A’ level standard of education or equivalent diploma in shipping/logistics.
- Previous experience in logistics and/or shipping.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Proficient in computer usage and familiar with internal systems.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
