Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to prepare wood, cut, glue, produce and install wooden and other structures according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read drawings, sketches and blueprints to fully understand requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape and smooth wood, lumber and other material according to measurements
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
- Lay out flooring, roofing or partitions ensuring they are leveled and compatible
- Assemble and/or Carve shelves, furniture, cabinets, and other items and install them where designated
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
- Build scaffolding and other construction structures if required
Qualifications/Requirement
- Good standard of education especially in math
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Proven Experience as a carpenter
- Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Proficient in using carpentry tools and machinery
- Good physical condition and endurance
