Job Description
The Role
Our client is seeking the employment of a warranted Architect, having a strong Structural Design background with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience. The person must be versatile in designing with various building materials with special focus on reinforced concrete. The selected candidate, must have an investigative nature, be accurate, ensure the safety and physical integrity of buildings and structures, and also have commercial awareness to design structures that are efficient and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of local construction materials, construction techniques and legal regulations.
- Perform structural calculations/designs in accordance with current Eurocodes.
- Provide structural technical advice and support as required.
- Perform and develop structural design solutions.
- Assist in conceptual/preliminary structural design solutions for budgeting purposes
- Performs full structural design including necessary calculations both utilising manual and digital techniques
- Prepare structural design reports, designs, drawings and sketches
- Perform all necessary documentation in relation to structural performance of structures
- Prepare Technical Method Statements
- Monitor and Inspect construction works to ensure compliance with the structural designs
- Perform all necessary documentation in relation to structural performance of structures
Level of Education Standard & Experience Required
- MQF level 6 (degree) – Civil Engineering, Structural Design Stream
- Licenses/Certificates required – Maltese Warrant
- Years of working experience – Minimum 10 years
- Languages- written/spoken – strong communication skills in English
