Job Description
Our clients’ MICHELIN-starred restaurant are looking for a Junior Sous Chef. This is a rare chance to join a talented team in which you will be challenged to learn and develop your skills through persistence to achieve perfection. You will be involved in the day-to-day operation and the preparation and delivery of exclusive high-end events with no equivalent on the island.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To ensure that the necessary stocks are in hand at the right quality and quantity
- To ensure that each dish leaving the kitchen is checked for quality, quantity, presentation and correct temperature
- To assist and direct in avoiding wastage of food and theft from the kitchen
- To ensure that all communications between restaurant and kitchen run smoothly
- To communicate any special requirements regarding VIP function
- To ensure that all maintenance problems are reported in a timely manner and followed up
- To ensure all incidents are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the direct manager
- To delegate workload to subordinates fairly and consistently while continually striving to improve flow of production
Qualifications/Requirement
- Graduate courses in cooking and HACCP
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a fine dining environment
- Proven track record of leading a team
- Ability to plan, organise and manage kitchen operation
- Ability to provide consistent food quality to the highest standards
- Must be computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
