• Sourcing relevant vendors and service providers.
• Keeping track of supply and material inventories. Keep an up-to-date inventory.
• Purchasing any equipment, tools, or materials that may be required. This includes also their upkeep. The maintenance operator assigns costs and expenses to the relevant budget lines.
• Handling of purchasing of maintenance items whilst adhering to budget requirements;
• Supporting the Assistant Head of Facilities with administrative tasks as needed from time to time.
• Updating and filing maintenance logs for all machinery.
• Reviewing work related procedures suggesting recommendations for improvement.
• Assist as required during CSR events and supervise the volunteers during work carried out at our sites.
• Report on the progress of works in general, even those tasks that were carried out by junior staff.
• Allocate and distribute the workload amongst the entire maintenance team while keeping abreast of the progress and taking ownership of the tasks at hand.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including pipe fixes, drainage maintenance, faucet and shower repairs, and leak detection.
• Conduct carpentry and woodwork tasks such as repairing doors, cabinets, frames, and assembling basic furniture.
• Handle minor electrical tasks, including replacing light fixtures, performing basic wiring, and resetting circuit breakers (non-licensed electrical work).
• Carry out painting and finishing, including surface prep, patching walls, and painting both indoor and outdoor areas.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively for a wide range of maintenance tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, such as bleeding calorifiers, cleaning filters, and checking water and HVAC systems.
