The Role
Our client is looking for a Mobile Crane Operator. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our construction projects by operating mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials, equipment, and structures. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the crane while adhering to all safety regulations and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and structures at construction sites.
- Interpret and follow construction plans, blueprints, and lifting procedures to ensure precise and accurate crane operations.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure the crane is in proper working condition, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Rig loads and secure them properly before lifting, ensuring the stability and safety of the load.
- Communicate effectively with the construction team and signallers.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the crane and report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance team.
- Complete daily logs, including information on crane usage, maintenance, and any incidents or accidents.
Qualifications/Requirement
- Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements for operating mobile cranes.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating mobile cranes, preferably in the construction industry.
- Relevant certifications for mobile crane operation are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and lifting procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for precise crane movements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.
- Physical fitness and stamina to withstand the demands of operating a mobile crane.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
