The Role
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Maintenance Manager, and within the limits of the established hotel policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- To liaise with the Maintenance Manager regarding work orders in and prioritize in order of guest satisfaction
- Maintain the hotel in your qualified trade to the desired standard
- To daily inspect and rectify of all public areas
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with the design of a preventative maintenance program as required
- Use initiative and foresight to undertake tasks outlined within the preventative maintenance program without the direction of the Maintenance Manager
- Be able to show flexibility to change the schedule in light of guest priorities
- Carry out general building minor maintenance repairs
- Carry out minor tiling or plumbing as directed
- Carry out any minor repairs to guest rooms or public areas
- Ensure plant rooms are checked and cleaned and are in operating order
- Carry dect phone and respond to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the shift
- To attend and investigate faults and breakdowns of building services, equipment, installations, appliances, etc.
Qualifications/Requirement
- A good standard of education
- Fluent in English
- Able to work on his own initiative
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Able to work with shifts on a seven-day schedule
- Would ideally have previous experience working in a similar environment and ideally have sound knowledge in guest room maintenance
- Would ideally have wireman’s Licence A as a minimum requirement
