The Role
The Foreman is responsible for scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead and manage a team of construction workers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Create and maintain project schedules, coordinating tasks and activities to optimize workflow.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations, conducting safety meetings and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper usage to avoid delays.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and any incidents or changes to the project plan.
Qualifications/Requirement
- Proven experience as a Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and guidelines.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in construction management is a plus.
